Robin
Robin is a very known bird. Until the early years of 20th century the robin was usually know as the redbreast. It can reach 14 centimeters and it eats fruits, insects and worms. Robins live in Europe, North Africa and Northwest Asia. Also, many attempts have been made to introduce robins to America and New Zealand, but all have failed. Its singing is very lively. The robin was declared Britain's Bird on December, 1960. Ringing recoveries of British-ringed robins have that the most frequent cause of death is being killed by a cat. Robins defend their territories from other robins, sometimes they fight to the death. Robins lay blue eggs! Most robin clutches during their first nesting of a season have 3 or 4 eggs. Very rarely there are 5, but this most often happens when a robin lays an egg in another robin's nest. The eggs need 12 to 14 day to be hatched. Scientific name: Erithacus rubecula
